I Thought I Could Have Anything I Wanted if I Wished Hard Enough… and other things.
I love answering questions from people who are interested in metaphysics more than any other thing. I don’t know exactly why that is, I only know that I find the subject of the human imagination utterly exhilarating. It is a world I inhabit constantly, I am never out of it, even in my profession which is heavily academic, I somehow manage to steer the conversation in the direction of “our divine purpose and the potential we have to fulfil it”. I might be talking about Brexit and I’ll still find a way to show how this chaotic political event demonstrates the practicalities of positive mind metaphysics .
It is this outlook, one filtered through a metaphysical lens that has made my life such a joyous adventure. I live problem free because I know exactly what my challenges are for, and I rise to them. I have no beefs with anyone, nothing is a problem and because of this I can fully engage in what I have been mandated to do within the time allocated to me. I wouldn’t change who and what I have discovered myself to be for anything in existence and I mean that, most sincerely. I love it that some people find me a little odd. Being odd can be pretty fantastic. I’ve met some tremendous people who have supported me and seem to quite like being odd too. The vast majority of us are having a tremendous time and I think that deep down what we want is for everyone else to have a tremendous time too.
My life is what it is because of the gifts that I have unlocked through application of the principles of metaphysics as taught by Neville Goddard. These are gifts that every last one of us born into the world possesses- FACT. And so if you’re someone who doesn’t believe this sort of thing or you are in the habit of listening to people who don’t believe this sort of thing, worry not. This isn’t a sales pitch. I have never asked a single person to accept what I say , I do ask though that people remain open minded and that when they have a private moment free, they have a little play. Testing the theories I espouse through experimentation costs nothing. It is absolutely free. The initial reaction (physiological and or psychological) may be a little jarring but if you press ahead you’ll discover the truth of what I am saying for yourself which saves all the heartache and arguing :)
The fact is most people get mad at metaphysics because — as Neville himself so eloquently put it — “they’re thinking to themselves, this all sounds too good to be true, and I want to try it because I don’t know where else to turn, but if I try and it fails me then where am I?” Or words to that effect. I’m paraphrasing (quite a lot). The bottom line is, I get it. If you’ve found a way to cope with life and you feel as if you have all your bases covered, the thought of disrupting the equilibrium might seem terrifying. No one likes stress and trying new things, giving up cherished beliefs, taking responsibility (what Neville calls “man’s invisible nightmare”) can be pretty stressful. But I am living proof that all of the traumas we face in life no matter what they are, can be overcome and can as well be turned into a source of learning, and growth and building. Which might be worth blogging about sometime…
Perhaps this is why I love talking to others, learning from them and sharing what I know. As soon as I start, the flood gates open and out pours a stream of inspirational uplifting life changing stuff. And I make no apologies for putting it in these terms. This isn’t my stream of stuff, its for everyone. I’m just one of the people charged with reminding others of that fact.
So, anyway, I received the following question (the exact same question) from several different people over the past few days which is interesting to me. I addressed it on Facebook, but for anyone who doesn’t read my posts there, here it is again. PS. It’s really metaphysics-ally…
“Why don’t some of the things I want show up?”
Neville Goddard addresses the issue of “failure” in his book The Power of Awareness (see chapter Failure) in which he states that our inability to produce the results we seek are related to the condition of our consciousness.
I concur.. Our desires are filtered through us to take on physical reality. When there is agreement between the aspect of self that first becomes aware of the desire, and the human aspect that manifests it, there is no problem. When the agreement is broken or not fully formed, things will not work out. And, according to Neville this is the case no matter how faithfully one applies the laws of metaphysical prayer.
In my experience, whenever I have had a disappointment, I inspect my attitude, my mood, my state overall and I always find out just why it is didn’t fulfil my goal.. The reasons differ for us as individuals but the outcome is the same. They may include a niggling doubt that the thing you’re pursuing is not quite right, or the relationship is not quite right, whatever it is there is always going to be some signal, some sign that you really don’t want what it is you may have told yourself that you do.
Anything that disrupts the sensation of absolute certainly that what you desire is yours will result in failure, because the faculty you use to fulfil your desires is much more sensitive than the faculties that enable you to experience your desires in physical form. It is the aspect of self (God) that sees beyond the immediate present or future, it knows the impact the fulfilment of this desire will have on you and the lives of those connected to you. This becomes much easier to understand and accept the stronger your relationship to this aspect of self is.
Get into the habit of communing with your higher consciousness and you will find that you no longer mind when some things don’t go according to plan. You may even find yourself celebrating these outcomes or receiving them with relief and gratitude.
In any event never forget that you are the person who determines whether your desires become a reality or not. You are the operant power and if something has slipped through your fingers — rejoice — nothing is lost. What is yours can be restored. You can overcome the limitations that made the attainment of your goal in that moment impossible, and emerge wiser, and stronger. All experiences are education.and serve only to reveal the ultimate, the divine purpose of your life.
